As a Project Manager Apprentice, you’ll be involved right from the start, working with an established and qualified team with the ultimate aim, to delight our valued customers. No two days are the same at Weir, each project is different, each customer is different and the daily challenges and opportunities within the Project Management function keep things interesting.

Based in Todmorden, you will work with all internal and external departments across Weir Minerals Europe in our collective aim to deliver projects on time, under budget and put a smile on our customer’s faces. You will learn how to turn an idea into a real life, working physical solution to solve our customer’s needs. You will be provided guidance, development to ensure success on your way to becoming a well-rounded Project Manager. You should have a keen interest in Engineering, an eye for detail and enjoy planning, reviewing, communicating, and working with people both face to face and using the latest I.T. meeting platforms.

The aim; To get you trained ‘on the job’ and compliment this with relevant formal training and associated qualifications to ensure you have the tools to get the job done and enjoy making things happen.
Weir Minerals Europe are experienced in training and supporting apprentices and are keen to expand our Project Management Team.

Duties/main responsibilties include:

• Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviours in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
• To assist the project management team in project delivery and in time, develop and manage your own projects with support from the PMO team.
• To control costs, time and scope and report on such.
• To form teams, to create project plans, to execute with effectiveness and efficiency.
• To support new project bids for future customers.
• To work with our supply chain, quality, financial and engineering teams to deliver on time, under budget.
• In time, to liaise with client(s) and their team(s).
• Being involved in design reviews, regular project review meetings, becoming the ‘go-to’ person on a project

JOB KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Communication skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Administrative skills.
• Team working.
• Having a passion and motivation to succeed.
• Knowledge, experience, or general engineering experience would be beneficial.
• Knowing or investigating how ‘stuff works’ is a great attribute.
• A Levels or equivalent in Maths and Science is desirable.
