Burnley College is honouring “Lancashire’s Unsung Heroes” as it joins forces with The Burnley Express and Burnley Post for the Best of Lancashire Awards 2023.
Nominations are now open for the prestigious event, celebrating its third year and Burnley College is proudly sponsoring the “Grass Roots Sports” award.
As the Number 1 College in England it is renowned for its unrivalled, award-winning Sport and Fitness facilities and multiple routes for learners to progress to a career in the industry and has recently announced its BFC Women’s Professional Academy in partnership with Burnley Football Club.
Ash Alderson, Manager of Fitness Evolution, the College’s on-site Strength and Conditioning facility, elite gym and recovery spa says the Grass Roots Award was a natural choice:
Giving everyone who has the passion to compete or the desire to pursue a career in the Sport and Fitness industry the opportunity to do just that is a fundamental principle at Burnley College.
– Ashley Alderson, Manager of Fitness Evolution
“The sports stars of the future are already out there playing in back gardens, on community pitches and on school yards and we are honouring them.
“We want to champion those very heroes who bring communities together, who put the spotlight on local stars, who coach and nurture the next generation, encouraging the best results for everybody at every level.”
Categories range from the 999 Hero Award for someone who’s made an outstanding contribution to saving lives or averting disaster.
