Remarkable Health and Social Students have been supporting the Burnley Together Christmas Appeal, which last year helped over a thousand youngsters in Burnley receive gifts for Christmas.
Students collected gifts for children up to the age of 16, raised money for the appeal and volunteered to organise the donations – so hundreds of children have presents to open on Christmas Day.
Kimberley Gorton, Lecturer in Health and Social Services said:
“I’m incredibly proud of my Students. Watching them develop both academically and personally is the reason I love what I do!
“Providing opportunities to Students to support the local community is something we’re incredibly passionate about at Burnley College – we are most definitely at the heart of the community.
“The sense of pride is overwhelming; our Students have made a real difference in making this Christmas one to remember for less fortunate young people and families in Lancashire.”– Kimberley Gorton, Lecturer in Health and Social Services
A key part in our Students development is the extra-curricular side of the Burnley College experience, which is why this was a fantastic opportunity for Students to give back whilst immersing themselves into the community – contributing to bettering the world.
