A group of talented Burnley College Sixth Form Centre students have signed their first record deal after forming as part of their music qualifications.
The band, Until Joy, came together almost two years ago after meeting on the Advanced Level Music course at Burnley College.
Last year, they took to the roof to perform a selection of their hits.
The band features Joel Taylor on vocals and guitar, Lydia Tregay on bass and vocals, and Sophie Savage on drums.
“We had a real jumble of tastes when we first got together.
“She’s a Charmer’ was the first real ‘rock’ song we wrote together. After that, we realised we could bring all of our skills and influences together to create something different.”– Joel Taylor, Vocals and guitar, Until Joy
The mixture of styles is obvious from the band’s list of influences, which range from The Strokes and Bikini Kill to Paramore and Radiohead.
If you want to blast out your band’s latest songs to the world from the roof of Burnley College, there’s no better place to start than a music course at Burnley College Sixth Form Centre.
