Walking with dinosaurs! Healing Teddy Bears! Getting soaked by a crazy, out-of-control futuristic robot!
Just another day at Burnley College’s Science and Technology Festival.
The unrivalled celebration has become a key event in the calendar for families from across the North West and this year’s was bigger and better than ever.
The legendary Titan the Robot starred once again, now a household name after appearing on hit ITV show “Britain’s Got Talent” and remained a hugely popular attraction at our annual event.
This time though he was sharing the stage with the College’s incredible new Dynamic Dinosaur Experience which saw Mesozoic creatures stalking a giant jungle zone, carefully created by the College’s incredible Construction division, filled with dino-roars, luscious foliage and erupting volcanoes.
There were even two baby dinosaurs who visitors enjoyed petting all day.
These were just two of the many breath-taking Science, Technology and Engineering attractions on show at the College’s £115 million campus.
As always, there was the opportunity to experience an exciting array of live experiments, take part in hands-on activities and enjoy fun games.
One of the most popular attractions at the annual festival is the Teddy Bear Hospital. Hundreds of Teddies were treated by our friendly, expert team, made up of social care students and tutors in our impressive Simulation Suite.
The astounding Bubbleologist returned to amaze all ages with an exciting visual display of spreading fun and joy in every bubble – bubble-tastic!
Families have been sharing their memories of the day on social media including one mother who said:
We had a brilliant time! It was so good and there was loads to do. I only wish we had come earlier as we couldn’t get round it all! Looking forward to the next event.

“We are proud to have hosted the Science and Technology Festival right here on our impressive Princess Way Campus for another year.
“Our annual free family event has become a highlight in the local calendar and attracts families from all over the North West.
“This year there were even more exciting activities and attractions for all ages to enjoy – the introduction of our Dynamic Dinosaur Experience was certainly a hit!
This event definitely sparked the imagination and creativity of a range of future scientists – we are looking forward to seeing them again next year.
