About the course
As a student you will have the opportunity develop outstanding and invaluable interpersonal skills which will prepare you for your chosen career or further education in the industry. There are 9 modules in each year of the course. 18 are studied overall. Some of these are: cabin crew, customer service, travel destinations, resort representatives, cruise, airports/airlines and many more. Assessments are instead of exams which take place in a number of ways within written and practical. Written coursework is assessed through reports, essays, and other creative methods. Practical assessments that take place are demonstrations, presentations, and role plays. Taking part in college events will also be used for assessment purposes to ensure you demonstrate the correct skills, knowledge and behaviours required for the industry. Work experience, trips and college events also make up a large portion of the course. On successful completion of this course you may progress to a job role within the Travel, Tourism, Hospitality and Events sector, University study or a Degree Apprenticeship. Careers that this course may lead to include arrange of potential roles both nationally and internationally; these include - the aviation industry such as Airport, Cruise Ships,Tour Operations are also positions students go on to fill with many progressing to managerial levels within a few years of their careers.

Entry Requirements
Five GCSEs at grade 5, including English Language or Mathematics OR a relevant Level 2 Diploma with a Merit grade and a GCSE grade 5 in English Language or Mathematics.
Modules
Modules studied over the 2 years include; cabin crew, customer service, hospitality, marketing, resort representatives, the UK travel and tourism industry, package holidays, cruise, tour operations, airports/airlines plus many more.
Assessment
Over the 2 years, 18 units will be studied. Units covered on the course are; cabin crew, resort representatives, customer service, hospitality, events management, marketing, airports/airlines, plus many more. Each unit, tutors will be assessing your knowledge through a range of methods such as quizzes on theory learnt, Q&A in lessons, discussions with peers through group work and in class tasks such as research and written tasks. There are no exams on this course and the course is assessed both practically and written. Written assessments are usually in the form of reports, essays, information files, blogs, leaflets, posters and guides. Practical assessments can be individual or in a group. Such as; cabin crew demonstrations, checking passengers in at the airport, mock travel agent scenarios, group presentations and discussions.
Careers & Progression
Many students on the course have progressed into cabin crew jobs, airport check in, travel agents and a wide range of hotel based roles. Students have also progressed onto cruise liners, holiday camps around the world and as overseas representatives. Academic progression can also include; university to study international tourism management and attendance at specific hospitality universities in the UK.

A full uniform is required for all practical assessments on the course - more information will provided upon enrolment.
Equipment Supplied
The Travel Training Suite offers a mock up aircraft fuselage, facilities for airport and hotel check in, a mock travel agency and a number of specialised hospitality equipment.
Enrichment Activities
There are a wide range of trips and visits to enhance students' knowledge of the industry. Past ones have included; Spain, London, New York, Edinburgh, The Lake District, Luxury hotels, Holiday parks, Edinburgh, Theme Parks and many more. There are also a range of trips and visits to various industry organisations in the UK and overseas, this will give you a real life view on how the industry works. On the course, there are a variety of college wide activities that you will take part in to enhance your CV and make you more employable.
