About the course

Each apprentice will take the occupational route that is best suited to the business they work in. Pathways available are;

Fitted Furniture Installer (Kitchen and Bedroom Installers)

General Furniture Manufacturer (Bar/Shop Fitting, Seating, Kitchen manufacturing, exhibitions)

Wood Machinist (Producing timber components using woodworking machinery)

Upholstery (Manufacturing sofa's, chairs, bench seating and upholstered products)

Apprentices will attend college on a day-release basis in order to improve their knowledge of the furniture industry. Apprentices are required to create a portfolio of work based evidence that is collected in the workplace to demonstrate their competency and skills.

End Point Assessment All apprentices are assessed at the end of their training period by completing an EPA. The EPA consists of a knowledge exam, practical observation of skills and a professional discussion with the external assessor regarding their portfolio of evidence.
