About the course

Candidates will be required to select one of two pathways which need to meet the scope of work carried out by their employer;

Site Carpentry (Domestic properties or new build housing developments) - Installing structural timbers such as roofs and floors, door and window frames, doors, staircases and kitchen units.

Architectural Joinery (Workshop/ Factory based)- Manufacturing timber products using fixed machinery, for example, staircases, doors, windows and timber frames.

Entry Requirements

Candidates must hold GCSE Grade 3 or above in English and Math's. Individual circumstances maybe considered.

Assessment

Apprentices will complete a 24 months practical training period followed by a end point assessment (EPA). Which consists of the following; 7 hour Practical Assessment, Online Multiple Choice theory Exam, 45 minute Interview/ Professional discussion based on their portfolio.

Careers & Progression

Candidates may progress on to the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Carpentry and Joinery
