About the course
The HND in Music Production is a one-year course, running side-by-side with the Performance Pathway to allow for collaboration between students and projects.
The Production pathway is designed for those wishing to further their understanding and practice in the technical production of music and sound.
Learners will primarily focus on music production skills, with various projects that allow them to develop their own unique sound and artistic signature. They will also learn and develop advanced production techniques, and develop professional working attitudes and behaviours in the completion of their work.
Learners will go in-depth into the fundamentals of sound creation using various digital synthesis types, and undertake projects to develop their confidence, understanding, and ability to create synthesised sounds from scratch. Learners will also be able to expand and refine their mixing and mastering skills, bringing their productions ever closer to that professional, polished sound through the use of hardware, software/ plugins, and techniques.
This pathway allows learners to apply their skills in a range of industry-focused scenarios and projects, which are designed to illustrate the range in which their skills can be applied, and also generate a collection of quality work that can be used in professional portfolios.
They will also develop their artistic and professional identity, and learn new ways to apply their craft to the many opportunities presented in the music industry and beyond.
