About the course
This course is an introduction to Digital Music Production and DAW techniques. ‘DAW Production Techniques’ encompasses the full range of equipment, tools, and techniques used to create music and sound using a computer.
We’ll start off with exploring and becoming comfortable with the DAW environment, how to navigate the menus and interface, and how to create audio and software instrument tracks.
Then we’ll move on to exploring the creative ‘music-making’ features of a DAW, such as writing in MIDI parts, using a MIDI keyboard to play in parts, and also how to work with audio files and tracks. As part of this, some basic music theory will be covered to support your progress, but with a practical focus.
We will also cover some basic mixing techniques and use of effects, so that you can ‘polish’ your creations and make them sound even better.
Start Date/s
25/02/2025
Careers & Progression
This course is perfect for music teachers and educators who want to skill up in using DAWs and music technology in the classroom, so they can widen their professional development. This is also a great option if you are a musician who wants to start getting into the recording and production sector, or even to start producing your own music digitally.
