Entry Requirements

Our typical offer is 104 UCAS points. A-Levels: pass in Mathematics and a Science or Technology-based subject. Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (1080) in an Engineering subject: grade DMM. Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma (540) in an Engineering subject: grade D*D. Access to HE Diploma in Engineering: grade pass with a minimum score of 104 UCAS points. We are unable to accept international applications for this course. We operate a flexible admissions policy and treat everyone as an individual which means that we will take into consideration your educational achievements, predicted grades (where applicable), and industry experience.

Assessment

You will learn through a range of teaching methods that will include: Lectures, Seminars, Tutorials, Workshops and Practical Sessions, Online resources, Independent Learning Research and Industrial Visits. Assessments are based on Written Assignments, Practical and Laboratory Work, and Presentations so that you can show application of the subjects learned in the classroom.

Careers & Progression

With a HNC in Engineering, you could earn a salary in excess of £28,000 across a broad range of roles through the Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing sector. You'll be eligible to apply for roles such as Design Engineer, CAD Engineer, Quality Engineer, Product Engineer, Project Engineer, Control Engineer.

Additional Details

Equipment Needed

You will need a notebook, pen, pencil, Casio FX-83GTX Scientific Calculator (or similar), and a tablet/laptop with a word processor for writing assignments. You also need a sketchpad and sketch pens which will be provided during the first week of the course for a small contribution of £5.00.


Equipment Supplied

All specialist software, experiment equipment and specialist computer resources are made available during the course.


Information About Fees

Part-time £3,625 per year (2 year duration). Full-time £7,250 per year (1 year duration). Course fees may be paid via a Student Finance England Tuition Fee Loan subject to your eligibility. This course is not eligible for Apprenticeship Levy funding - for Levy funded University qualifications, please see our Bachelor Degree BEng (Hons) in Engineering Design [Multiple Pathways] course.
