About the course

This course is highly regarded by Employers and academic institutions alike, preparing students for a career in Early Years. The content equips you with underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills for employment in the early years education sector at a supervisory or lower management level. Upon completion of the qualification students will meet NCTL Early Years Educator requirements at Level 4, qualifying them to be counted in the qualified Level 3 ratios in an early years education setting. 

 

The entry requiremts are: A Level 3 qualification in Early Years or a similar field. All applicants will need to show that they have GCSE Maths and English with a minimum grade C or equivalent qualification. All applicants will be interviewed and an enhanced DBS will be required.

Entry Requirements

A Level 3 qualification in Early Years or a similar field. All applicants will need to show that they have GCSE Maths and English with a minimum grade C or equivalent qualification. All applicants will be interviewed.

Modules

Mandatory modules are: A Pearson-set Individual Project; Personal and professional Development; Protecting Children in Early Childhood and Education; Supervising and Promoting Children's Development; promoting Healthy Living; Inclusive Practice. One optional module will be selected from ; Trauma in Childhood; Comparative Education Systems; Advanced Practices in Safeguarding.

Assessment

Teaching, learning and assessment on this course has been specially designed to help students build their knowledge between modules and between academic and work-based activities. Teaching is delivered by a mixture of formal lectures by industry experts, seminars, workshops, case studies and placements, all supported by live project work to put theory into practice. Assessment involves a combination of coursework, presentation exercises and practical's which will show your industry expertise and knowledge.

Careers & Progression

Progress to the Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma in Advanced Practice in Early Years Education, or to undergraduate study in a related early years degree programme.
