About the course
CNC (computer numerical control) skills are vital in the workplace to ensure productivity and efficiency. This course will enable candidates to confidently operate a CNC Milling machine and also construct a CNC program using GE Fanuc or Mazak Control Systems. They will be able to understand and apply G and M code programming language and identify error codes and take the relevant corrective action. Content that will be covered during the course will be over two modules Program Interpretation and Configuration and then Machine Operation. Program Interpretation and Configuration will cover machine and work piece reference points and absolute and incremental programming. It will also cover circular interpolation functions and functions to simplify programming and also be equipped in the use of drilling and threading cycles and program editing. Machine Operation will cover equipment isolation and emergency stop functions, setting machine datums and setting and adjusting tool offsets. Candidates will be equipped in the use of feed and spindle over-ride functions, dealing with involuntary interruption of programs and safety functions.
