Entry Requirements

At least six GCSEs at grade 5 or above in a good range of subjects, including both English and Mathematics. Additional entry requirements for this course are: A minimum of grade 6 in GCSE Art and Design. In exceptional circumstances, we will consider students without this who have a strong portfolio of design work demonstrating genuine interest and capability in the area.

Assessment

You will be assessed against the course requirements as dictated by AQA specifications. The AS Level has one externally set component. The A Level has two components, one personal investigation (including a portfolio element and a contextual related study) and one externally set task. During the course there is continual assessment with the summary assessment on the successful completion of the study programme; completion of the personal investigations and exam requirements. You are assessed on your contextual studies, the complexity and depth of your understanding of materials, techniques and processes as well as the quality of your own innovative conceptions as presented in both your final outcomes and supporting sketchbook investigations and explorations.
