About the course
On this course you will learn the practical and theoretical aspects of electrical installation, including assembling electrical wiring systems, safe and efficient working practices, and using and communicating technical information. The develop your knowledge of electrotechical design, environmental technology systems, science and principles, inspection testing and commissioning, diagnosing and correcting electrical faults, overseeing and organising the work environment and small-scale solar photovoltaic systems. This vocational programme is the entry level for Electrical installation and is designed to map to Apprenticeship course content, giving you the necessary skills to progress into the electrical industry.

Entry Requirements
A Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation with at least a Merit grade or an appropriate Level 2 Diploma plus GCSEs at grade 4 including English, Mathematics and Science
Assessment
Assessment is both practical and theoretical, involving eight practical assessments and seven theoretical assessments, externally moderated.
Careers & Progression
On successful completion of this course you may progress to a Level 3 Award in internal Verification and Certification of Electrical Installation and a Level 3 Periodic Inspection Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations. Careers that this course may lead to include self-employed electrician, building services engineer or a range of roles in the management within the construction industry.

The division is focused on links with the community and community projects, offering the opportunity for work experience for full time learners.
