About the course
This programme of study specifically enhances analytic skills and allows you to develop reasoned arguments in relation to core philosophical themes. It also looks at the validity of existing ethical bodies and institutions, such as government, within a contemporary world. This course focuses on Religion and Ethics in Contemporary Society; topics include: Utilitarianism, Situation Ethics, Environmental Ethics, Natural Law, Kant’s theory of Ethics, Libertarianism and Human Freedom, Virtue Ethics and Religious Fundamentalism. In previous years, students have been given the opportunity to visit the Jewish Museum to learn about the Holocaust. There are also plans for a trip to Vatican City in Rome.

Entry Requirements
At least five GCSEs at grade 5 or above in a good range of subjects, including both English and Mathematics.
