About the course

Do you want to pursue a career in Sport and Exercise Science? There is a primary focus on the physiological basis of the human body, the psychology behind performance and the ability to carry out an individual project. Develop your self-confidence and practical scientific knowledge of the sport and exercise industries such as Sports Therapy, Rehabilitation and Sports Management ready for work experience, learning sector specific skills such as Fitness Testing, Training and Programming with Exercise Physiology and Sports Nutrition.

Entry Requirements

Five GCSEs at Grade 5 or above including English and Mathematics or a relevant Level 2 qualification.

Modules

The two year programme includes 18 advanced units such as Functional Anatomy; Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology, Coaching for Performance and Fitness and Sports Massage. Practical topics include Sports Coaching, Practical Team Sports and Practical Individual Sports.

Assessment

The vocational diploma is assessed via coursework where you will create a portfolio of evidence and external examinations (40%)
