Khya, from Barnoldswick was an Advanced Manual Engineering Apprentice with Fort Vale Engineering.

With her “eye for detail” and “strong work ethic”, Khya moved into the nuclear division in 2023 after being headhunted and has a long-term plan to be involved in the management of complex projects within the nuclear industry.

She’s a keen ambassador for both Apprenticeships and Engineering and her assessor singled her out for “being open and honest about her journey” adding “she easily communicates with students at events and gives them a real insight into what an Apprenticeship at Fort Vale can truly offer.”
