Holly Whittaker from Rossendale, a former student of Bacup & Rawtenstall Grammar School, joined the Burnley College family after hearing great recommendations and seeing how amazing the campus looked, which set her down the path of Healthcare Science.

The course has helped Holly grow outstanding confidence in a healthcare setting throughout her placements at Royal Blackburn and Burnley General Hospitals but her favourite was being a District Nurse.

Holly said: “I prefer being out in the community and the change of scenery from the wards. Travelling and interacting in the community gives me a better idea of what it’s like to be a paramedic too.”

The placements made her transition to study a Nurse Parademic degree at Edge Hill University a smooth one.
