Elite Athlete Programme

If you’ve got the talent, focus and determination to succeed and are already competing at a high level in your chosen sport, we’ve got the Elite Athlete Programme – a programme designed by professional athletes for the professional athletes of the future.

Students on our Elite Athlete Programme have an international reputation for success. They compete for places in the GB Olympic squad; they represent GB in the Junior Commonwealth Games; they are record-breakers and national heroes.

As an Elite Athlete you will be entitled to:

Use of our exclusive Strength and Conditioning Centre – used by top-flight sporting professionals
Access to our cryotherapy recovery chamber
Use the Wellness Centre, including Spa, Sauna and Hydropool
Performance-improving sports nutrition advice
Testing and analysis using industry-leading technology
Sports psychology sessions to maximise performance
Personal mentoring by professional athletes

Academy of Sport

You don’t have to be studying sports or fitness at Burnley College Sixth Form Centre to get access to the best training.

Our exclusive Academy of Sport is led by former professional athletes and nationally-recognised coaches who have years of experience in their chosen sport. It’s a great opportunity for you to focus on enhancing your skills or take up a new sport, confident that you’ll be learning from the very best.

Our Academies

Train each week with professional coaches and compete locally and regionally in:

FOOTBALL (including the Burnley Football Club Women’s Professional Academy) | RUGBY | NETBALL | RUNNING

As an Academy member you will have access to:

Strength and Conditioning coaching
Experience from our specialist coaches
State-of-the-art facilities
Physiotherapy
Statistical analysis
Performance tracking

The BFC Professional Women’s Academy In Partnership with Burnley Football Club

Our unique and unrivalled BFC Professional Women’s Academy gives you the opportunity to work directly with the Burnley FC Women’s first team and you could even end up in the squad – an offer unmatched by any College in Lancashire.

Alongside your academic studies you will:

Train 5 times per week with BFC
Work with the BFC women’s first team elite UEFA-standard coaches
Have the opportunity to play at Burnley FC’s training ground
Work with the nationally award-winning team at Fitness Evolution
Be provided with a personalised nutritional plan designed by experts to fuel your ambitions
Free access to our cutting-edge Strength and Conditioning Gym and industry-leading instructors
