About this vacancy

The East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce are offering the opportunity to work with a prominent and vibrant team, who work hard but also know how to have fun through the role of the Events Assistant. This organisation help companies across the area with their productivity, by helping reduce costs, providing qualified advice, training and developing staff, increasing sales and improving profits. The primary role of the position is to support the Events Manager with all event-related tasks, including:

• Provide administrative support for all events
• Assist Events Manager during events
• Assist with event promotions, both internally and externally
• Respond to event queries in a professional manner
• Liaise with venues, caterers and speakers as required
• Liaise with Chamber members and non-members as required
• Ensure CRM system is maintained with all activity before and after events

Duties/main responsibilties include:

Other responsibilities of the role include:

• Assist in developing and reviewing events
• Work with the Membership Director and the rest of the membership team to achieve
business plan targets approved by the Executive Board.
• Uphold the Chamber’s vision, aims, purpose and objectives and be a good ambassador for
the organisation.
• Adopt a highly customer focused approach with members, partners and stakeholders.
• Be a collaborative and supportive colleague within the Chamber.
• Actively promote other services offered by the Chamber to increase member’s touch points
with the Chamber offer.
• Ensure compliance with all Chamber policies and GDPR regulations.
• Attend regular Team and Staff meetings,
• Such other duties as the Membership Director may reasonably direct.

Working week

The East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce operates a 35 hour working week, with a compulsory one hour lunch break per day (normally Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00). The role may involve some evenings and out of hours responsibilities such as events preparation and support. Travel will be primarily within the East Lancashire region.
